The MASALA-2G study Community Advisory Board (CAB)
The CAB will provide community perspectives on the MASALA-2G study research activities. (Learn more about the MASALA-2G study.)
Who can be a CAB member?
We are looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds. No specific job or occupation, education, medical knowledge, or experience with medical research is needed. We ask that CAB members:
· Be age 21-40 years old
· Identify as a South Asian ethnicity (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, and/or Nepalese)
· Were born in the United States, and live in in the Chicago area
· Individuals do not need to be related to a MASALA Study participant, or participate in the MASALA-2G study
What are the roles and responsibilities of the CAB?
CAB Members will be asked to participate in one meeting every quarter, and respond to occasional email messages from the MASALA-2G Study team. The expected time commitment is about 15 hours total per year, for a 2-year term.
How will I benefit?
· Opportunity to network with other individuals of similar backgrounds in the Chicago area
· Your unique perspective will help the MASALA-2G Study address the health needs of the South Asian community
· Compensation of $750 per year ($1,500 for a 2-year term)
